21st Century Movements-THINKISM

In my describing the Thinkism Art Movement I suppose its overall theme seeks to encompass not only the environment, but also social justice, terrorism, freedom, peace and war. Its framework describe in a similarly titled manifesto to articulate a voice in the socially conscious Art movement.founded by David Kam to change perception of art as mere wall decorations. In the words of artists David Kam Art can be a beacon of light to brighten up your mind, to guide your soul, and much more. Art can also be a vehicle for positive social change. Although nascent in terms of time as a movement its impact is no less felt. The most notable artist Ai Weiwei  is identified as part of the Thinkism Art Movement an artist from China with whose successful exhibition in October 2010-Sunflower Seeds at the Tate Modern gave notoriety to the movement.

21st Century Movements-OMNI ART

Omni Art seeks to espouse the elements of the Human Experience in terms to their relation to their dimensions of consciousness in relation to the source or higher consciousness or "God" experience in Art.

The Physical Dimension - The primary vibrational field has the most dense oscillation pattern and energy signature manifested as matter within the physical universe.
The Astral Dimension - The secondary vibrational field has a faster and finer oscillation pattern and energy signature than the physical dimension. This is where dreams, psychic cognition, human emotions, and paranormal phenomenon take place.
The Causal Dimension - The tertiary vibrational field has a faster and finer oscillation pattern and energy signature than the astral dimension, and is described by many researchers as a resonant “brain” or record of all the cause-effect relationships in the universe, known in ancient Vedic texts as the akasha.
The Mental Dimension - The quaternary vibrational field has a faster and finer oscillation pattern and energy signature than the causal dimension. The human mind experiences this vibrational field as thoughts, ideas, concepts and connectivity.
The Etheric Dimension - The quinary dimensional field has a faster and finer oscillation pattern and energy signature than the mental dimension. This is the subconscious portal to the non-dual dimensions. This dimension acts as the gateway into non-duality or singularity and can be observed in sudden unexplainable awareness that spontaneously appears as an “aha,” or sudden moment of realization.

The Celebration of the Radiant Child and his ascension from labels that sought to define him 25 yrs later

The Radiant Child was a documentary taken from footage from a friend of the late artist Jean Michel Basquiat who was less tragic figure as he was misunderstood as a human being who was just making sense of the world around him first as a street artist who had a command of his audience as he resonated with his generation and their disdain with the establishment as Dadaists before him. His cultural experiences  from Haitian and Puerto Rican origins who high point was to make his prominent father proud as Gerard Basquiat, with some trepidation, gives Jean Michel money with the understanding that he will try his best to succeed and not unlike Miles Davis was tied to a dominant professional father. The latter of which asked to leave Julliard after being disillusioned with the "Eurocentric" slant which was a far cry from the Bebop movement he wanted to join which Jean Michel admired(though he favored Dizzy Gillespie).

The film did leave so many unanswered questions about the influence of the emerging hip hop uptown and club scene which his irreverent alter ego SAMO had such an impact upon. Basquait favored NYC to LA which was little surprise or consequence though the film made it a point to speak about effect the patrons of LA has upon Jean Michel's lapse into apathy and affluence. The struggle to overcome forces like Hilton Kramer who dismissed Basquiat's talent as so miniscule that his importance was practically nil and a heroin addiction that was a crutch nurtured by pressures to produce for galleries and clients led to his declining health subsequent to the passing of his mentor and hero in Andy Warhol and perhaps a broken heart from the lack of access to the high art circles he so desperately wanted to be a part of in life.

How the film Herb & Dorothy inspired and democritized Art collecting for me

I am not often into documentaries unless they involve a particular person of interest for me as either artists, musicians, historical figures and the like. This documentary type film however, because here were two unassuming figures of modest means having a narrative of having met, befriended,or has the pleasure of having intimately know some of the greatest artists of the 20th Century.

I was even more touched by their story because they willed their collection to world-class museums in trust and proceeds they received as a result they reinvested in more Art instead of merely "living" off of a windfall or selling their massive collection to supplement a modest lifestyle.

This by far was one of the quietest and most unassumingly powerful films I've ever seen.I was inspired after watching to make myself available to emerging artists locally. You never know who you might meet!
